Allison has had the privilege of working Locally, Regionally, and Nationally within NATCA. Now, she's eager to apply the skills and insights she's gained to benefit NCE members in the RVP role. Allison started her air traffic journey in the United States Air Force, then hired into the FAA working at Champaign ATCT (CMI) until her transfer to St Louis, Lambert ATCT (STL) in 2010. Since certifying at STL, she has actively contributed to the NATCA community. She served as the STL local's secretary before being elected facrep in 2015, where her team brought STL from the remnants of the White Book to the collaborative culture that they still enjoy today. On a regional level, she served on the Central Region Training Review Team until her placement as a Collaboration Facilitator. She has served as the Collaboration Facilitator for the Central Service Area-North since June 2019, in this role she has been working tirelessly to educate ATMs and Facreps across 61 facilities on the importance and "how-to's" of collaboration. She helps to teach them the benefits of collaboration that they enjoyed at Lambert. She has been a proud member of the National Legislative Committee (NLC) since 2015 representing the Central Region until December 2022, when her peers on the NLC honored her by electing her as the Committee's Vice-Chair. This role has been one of the greatest honors of her life. It was a humbling experience, especially knowing that her talented committee members trusted her for that role. Allison’s strong work ethic, fiscal responsibility, and commitment to doing what is right make her well-suited for the role of Regional Vice President. She is not afraid to speak truth to power and will tirelessly advocate for the interests and well-being of our members.
Educating NATCA members has always been a passion of Allison's. She has developed several courses, for the FAA and NATCA, and has been an instructor for many years. She is dedicated to ensuring our members have the opportunity to gain the knowledge they require to be a well rounded and knowledgable NATCA activist. Throughout her time as a NATCA activist the more that she learned about NATCA, the more she wanted to know. That taught her that an educated NATCA member is an active member.
One of Allison's core values is making measurable goals and promises. This not only helps her stay on track but also allows the membership to see if she is living up to the promises that were made. Leadership accountability is a top priority for Allison, the membership deserves nothing less.
Allison is dedicated to empowering our members by providing them with the resources, tools, and support they need to thrive both personally and professionally. The only way to do this is to listen to them and then determine their needs. As RVP Allison will hold a minimum of monthly membership calls so our Central Region members can have their voices heard. The week prior to the membership calls there will be a "virtual question form" that is sent to every member. This form will allow Central Region members the opportunity to ask questions in advance to ensure that there is time to gather the appropriate information and deliver it to the membership at large. This does not mean that members cannot ask questions directly on the call, but it does ensure a complete answer on the call.
As a Collaboration Facilitator, Allison has gone into countless facilities and talked to hundreds and hundreds of controllers. She has seen firsthand how the toll of the increased workload and understaffed facilities are affecting our membership. With this in mind, Allison will commit to making mental health and well-being a top priority. We have talented and dedicated members on CISM and NATCA's EAP committee. Allison will commit to a minimum of two Wellness Webinars per year. These will be focused on topics selected from feedback from the membership.
